WHAT IT CLAIMS:
“Break the rules for how you style
with got2b powder’ful volumising styling powder and take your volume to new
heights! This revolutionary weightless formula texturises each hair strand to
create maximum volume at the roots – in an instant!”
First I’ll start out with one of
the main things that annoys me about this product, which is the overuse of
numbers instead of letters – got2b and 4: instant volume – and their use of
text speak – “break the rules for how u style” I hate it, stop it, there’s no
need. I’m not thirteen, I didn’t really ever use text speak when it was “kewl”
to do so, and these days I definitely don’t. I find it patronising and ah, STOP
IT. Secondly, with Schwarzkopf, I always feel that their packaging is just a
little shit. Maybe this all stems from the fact that they sponsor every
programme on E4 after midnight, and back when I was in my third year of
University I was often awake until 4am just watching repeats of Scrubs and
Rules of Engagement pretending to work so I’ve seen those adverts like a
million times. Also, I’m a firm believer that if you sell a product in the UK , then you should use British
English, not American English. There are too many Z’s kicking about. ANYWAY, I
digress.
I was sceptical of this product
when I first got it, I couldn’t really work out how it would work. But I have
to say I’m generally impressed. You either put the powder in your hands, rub
your hands together and then work it into your hair, focusing on the roots – or
you tip it straight into your roots and work it in that way. For me, it didn’t
really work when I put it in my hands, it just made my hands feel funny, but it
does work when I tip it straight onto my roots. It’s great being able to add
volume without backcombing – my hair is in bad enough condition as it is.
It’s a great little product
because I generally have quite a bit of volume in my hair anyway, but my roots
have always let me down and this helps to counteract that. It’s really easy to
get it work too, which is always a plus. Also, unlike when you use dry shampoo
in your hair for texture and volume, there’s no grey crap left in your hair.
The one thing that lets this
product down is the way it makes your hair feel, I can’t really describe it. It’s
great, but I won’t be using it as an everyday product, because I only need to
wash my hair every three days, but when I use this I need to wash it the day
after. If you’ve bought this before and haven’t got along with it, my main
suggestion would be to really work on your application method.
Do you have this product? What’s
your opinion on it?

Hahah I agree with EVERYTHING you said in the first paragraph and laughed a lot at it too. I've been wanting to try one of these and seeing as you said it doesn't leave the 'grey crap' in your hair I might try it xo
ReplyDeletehaha thank you! i think it's either one of those love it or hate it products so i definitely think it's worth a go! x
DeleteHaven't tried this particular one but I own a similar product from Osis+ (Dust it) and I must say I'm not quite impressed because I hate the way my hair feels after using it :/
ReplyDeletei doubt you'd get along with this one then! it does leave your hair a bit weird, that's why i'd only recommend it for when you're off out/special occasions not every day! x
DeleteI have the v05 version of this and it always makes me want to wash my hair straight away!
ReplyDeleteJayde xo
yeah, this would probably do the same! i always just save it for a special occasion! x
Deletealways been interested in trying this product so thanks for the review. think i'd only use it the day before i'd be washing my hair. they really do need to chill out with their teen txt speak though haha xx
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's only when i use it too! never on clean hair, or only when i'm going out! they definitely do! x
DeleteI have to say I totally agree with the packaging thing - I think it looks too basic and cheap! I have used this product before, my friend had it and we were getting ready for a night out so I gave it a go. I used it by rubbing it inbetween my hands then working it in, which did work well for me and I found that the volume was still there even into the early hours! I did have to wash my hair the day after, but I was really impressed :) xx
